Google is bring back missing evaluations in Google Organization Profiles after repairing a bug that caused them to get eliminated.

Google is repairing a bug that caused evaluations to go missing out on from Google Service Profiles. Google validates evaluations are getting brought back. Google’s Browse Intermediary, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who says he reported the bug a week earlier.

Blumenthal isn’t exaggerating the seriousness of the bug. Evaluations are a dining establishment’s bread and butter, and eliminating them can considerably impact profits.

There are various threads in the Google Organization Profile help online forums begun by entrepreneur who lost most or all of their evaluations.

In each thread, business owners share something in common. After applying Google’s recommended edits to their organization profile, they all lost reviews.

Blumenthal composes in a post that he found Google was altering the consumer identification (CID) number when organizations used recommended edits:

“With some digging, I found that in each case Google had changed the CID, the identifier Google utilizes to tie all relevant information to a business, including evaluations. Usually the CID just changes when 2 listings combine or Google has hard-suspended a listing for guidelines infractions and after that restored it.”

Customer reviews are related to a specific CID number, which means changing the CID gets rid of the reviews.

That should never ever occur, especially not when applying Google’s suggested edits.

A fix is on the way, and hopefully, it’s as easy as reverting the impacted Google Company Profiles to their original CID numbers.

We’ll upgrade this post if Google shares extra information.
